The project incorporated a sustainable and energy efficient design that enhances the passenger experience while minimizing impacts to the environment. United Club members can enjoy the airline’s new larger Terminal 7 lounge, with an outdoor terrace, where they can work or relax while taking in spectacular views of the Los Angeles metro area, Hollywood, and the Pacific Ocean.
The remodeled boarding gate areas now feature a modern design, including a variety of comfortable seating options and numerous charging stations for customers’ electronic devices. The reconfigured airline gates accommodate 19 narrow- and wide-body aircraft, with 26 new or refurbished passenger boarding bridges. This $431.6 million, 634,000 SF, development program modernized Terminals 6, 7, and 8 at LAX by extending the useful life of the terminals, upgrading the baggage and passenger security screening facilities, and improving the customer service facilities.
